Stardust Dispatch #10: Pre-Order THE HERESY OF THIEVES

Here I am, sliding in at the very last days of the month to get my monthly newsletter out. In my defense, my epic fantasy novel is just over two months away from being out in the world! The time is simultaneously passing too quickly and not fast enough. It feels as though there's a million things coming up for me to do, but also a mere ten weeks for it all to happen!
I'm so excited for you all to meet my wonderful, terrible, gorgeous characters on the page. - Muñeca by Cynthia Gomez: A Bay Area gothic about a queer witch in Oakland? Hell yes. This spellbinding story was an instant buy for me.
- The Revenant of Surolifia by Florence Chien: Captivating personal drama with world-shattering, revolutionary stakes is my genre catnip, and Chien delivers it masterfully.
- A Fate Worse Than Drowning by Sarah Hawthorn: If you're just as obsessed with Widow's Bay as I am, why not venture out to Halifax Harbour next, where the year is 1861 and two sisters who made a deal with the devil run a lighthouse that lures sailors to their deaths?
- The Sixth Nik by Daniel Kraus: I have not had a chance to read this one yet, but the premise is wild and I could not resist picking it up. "... far past the triworld outposts" mmhmm "beyond the range of the lethal trollbot internet," ok sounds good, "... a ship woven from biomatter," <eyes emoji> "... Sisilla, a nine-year-old cultist with a brain enhanced by arcane tech" how did my wallet get into my hands like that? "... has boarded to investigate the enigma of Fém—a plague-riddled planet that has abruptly gone rogue." Wow and just like that, there's a copy of the book on my desk. Good grief. Those aren't even the wildest bits of the blurb!

Last month, I went to the Nebulas in Chicago and took a train to get there and back. Then I wrote about the adventure! Spoiler: It was a lot of fun and I wish I could take the train everywhere for long-distance travel, but alas I cannot afford to book-end my adventures with 2 days of travel every time. This month, I got my tattoo of Charisma the augmented octopus, enjoying a cocktail at the Kraken Club, tattooed on my own skin! It's part of my long-term project to get an element from each of my books added to a tattoo sleeve as I publish.
I'll have a new Radio Stardust mixtape out before the end of July for your listening pleasure, but in the meantime, why not try a peach gingerbread upside-down cake?
