Stardust Dispatch #7

In which the author ventures into a far-flung space station, makes friends with dogs, and shares their first DJ set.

Dear Starfolks,

Hello from the Mojave desert! if the miracles of satellite internet hold for me, you'll receive this newsletter before April is out. What am I doing way out here, you may be asking? I'm visiting the far-flung city of Neotropolis with some fellow Space Goats and our friends from the Glitter Cats. We're here to help people adopt adorable alien pets.

On the way, we stopped by a junk yard to help a fellow goat get their space trailer to safely to camp. There were junkyard dogs and yes I immediately made friends with them.

Neotropolis is likely the closest I'll ever get to visiting the enclaves dotting the fire-blasted wastelands of Marrow Nightingale's earth, with the added comfort of not having to deal with pop-up firenadoes or birds with razorblade feathers. Though we've been here for less than 24 hours, so I suppose there's time yet for either of those things to find us.

Book edits are in progress for THE HERESY OF THIEVES and I'm told a cover is imminent, as well as a freaking MAP, which I still can't quite believe my great fortune that Dark Matter Ink is splashing out the coin for a real life literal map of my world to be printed in every book.

While working on my manuscripts, I often find I cannot listen to music with words, or music with a lot of words. I've mentioned before that I like to listen to DJ sets to vibe and work, and for my birthday this year I was gifted my own real actual deck and starter gear, and have been practicing making my own sets to write to in my spare hours. This month, I feel like I managed to make one that doesn't fully suck and I'd like to share it with all of you, in case you also could use an hour of music to vibe and work to.

I'm being told one of the aliens in the space station are hawking frozen key lime pie on a stick, so that's it for me for this month! I'll be sure to share some Neotropolis images next month when I get back. Take care of yourselves, enjoy the music, and I'll see you in the stars.
